Historic Homecoming of the French Forces. Jubilant French troops -- away from their homeland for four black years, give way to wild joy as the debark from U.S. Coast Guard-manned landing craft on the beaches of the Riviera. These French units came to the shores of Southern France on a Coast Guard-manned invasion transport. They pressed ashore, eager to join the triumphant pursuit of Hitler's dismayed armies.
