Ignacio Garcini y Queralt (1752-1825), Brigadier of Engineers 1804 Goya (Francisco de Goya y Lucientes) Spanish An official in the War Department, Ignacio Garcini wears the uniform of the Corps of Engineers in this somewhat puffed up, self-satisfied image. The splayed collar and decorative button holes help to animate his formal attire, which was originally more severe: the embroidered red cross and the badge of the Order of Santiago are decorations he received in 1806 and must have been added later.
