In Mouth-to-AIRWAY breathing techniques: Shown here is the plastic airway tube, specially designed with a long and a short end to fit the curve over tongue to throat passageway. It comes in two sizes. This is the adult-large child size. A smaller size is designed for small children and infants. Victim's size determines proper end to insert in his mouth. As in the DIRECT Mouth-to-Mouth techniques: - While blowing watch the victim's chest. When the chest rises, stop blowing and quickly remove your mouth from the airway mouthpiece. - Let the victim exhale passively by the elasticity of his lungs and chest. - When the chest does not rise improve the "sniffling position", prevent air leakage and blow more forcefully. If the chest still does not rise re-adjust the position of the airway. - Repeat these inflations 12 to 20 times per minute.
