This explosion was caused when US Marine Corps (USMC) Marines, Combat Engineer Company, Combat Assault Battalion (CAB), 3rd Marine Division (MARDIV), detonated a field expedient M18A1 Claymore Anti-personnel Mine that was placed front of a target at a demolition range in the Camp Fuji Maneuvering Area in order to test its effectiveness.
