Cherbourg Arms France -- Monsieur Jean Heusey is a robust 58 and remembers the good old long-before-the-last-war days when Cherbourg saw a healthy amount of shipping and there was good money for dockers. Now he, like hundreds of his mates, is only too glad to see the American arms ships arrive, for it means work. Politics "Merde for them all", says Heusey. "I'm just as happy to see the stuff come in and twice as happy to be paid". Cherbourg dockers have resisted the most persuasive and highest-ranking members of the French Communist Party in accepting this work.
