She will become mother-in-law to the Shah of Persia when her daughter, 18-year-old Soraya *****. To reporters she said the Shah is all a girl could wish for a husband - young, handsome, sportsman like. Soraya received her engagement ring from the Shah at a ceremony in his palace at Teheran on October 11th. "Soraya is a born empress", says her mother, "extremely intelligent, good-looking and of regal bearing". October 24, 1950.
