Health in a U.S. City: A Serum and Vaccine Farm School Boy Gets Health Inspection -- A small boy who is exhibiting a slight fever in school is about to have his throat inspected by a nurse of the New York City Department of Health. Doctors of the Department of Health assisted by nurses such as these closely guard the city's children from disease and annually inoculate and vaccinate thousands before they begin attending public school. The quantity of serums and vaccines used to uimunize children and the city's adult population is so large that the municipal government maintains a farm at Otisville, a near-by village, where serums and vaccines are manufactured.
