Israel's Second President Sworn In -- Yitzhak Ben Zvi, the new President of Israel, is seen (centre, wearing spectacles) during the inauguration ceremony at this ancient city. The successor to the late Doctor Chaim Weizmann took theoath of office before dignitaries of his own and foreign lands in the packed Knesset (Parliament). Immediately after the new President had signed the formal document of Inauguration and taken the Oath of office, the blue and silver presidential banner was broken from its standard and a 21-gun salute boomed out over the city. During his speech, Yitzhak Ben-Zvi - who has become the second President of this new state - said that the Prime tasks facing the nation were increasing immigration to this homeland of the Jews and preserving peace both within the country and abroad. Bricklayer Churchill's Eye Was ***** Said Stone Was 'Not Squares' -- Prime Minister Winston Churchill ***** Chancellor of Bristol University ***** with a critical and true eye, the foundation stone he has Jute ceremonially laid for the Law College of Engineering at the University today (Friday). Mr. Churchill a member of the Brick layers Union, insisted the stone was not square. A spirit level droved his correct.
