Bing Crosby And Tommy Handley Broadcast In 'Variety Band Box' -- Famous stars from both sides of the Atlantic broadcast at the Queensberry club, London, on August 27th, 1944, in 'Variety Band Box', the BBC's big show for serving men and women, which is given before a vast forces audience, and is heard in the BBC General Forces Programme. A recording is also transmitted in the BBC's A.E.F. Programme for the troops on the Western Front. August 27, 1944.

Role to Fame -- To be an actor and make a living as such requires, sometimes, the ability to act. Such was the case of the English actor, Geoffrey Victor Perrett, who entered the entertainment business at the age of 10 and discovered just a few years back that for him to win any success on the British stage, he had better assume another nationality. So he became an "American Gangster" named "Fingers" Orsini from Nashua, N. H., who was on the Lam from Chicago. The Britishers loved the "role" he had assigned himself. January 5, 1946.
