Description: An excessively sheet and gully eroded area near the Paramount Chief's village, photographed in 1936 shortly after protective works and a medium sized dam had been constructed. The area was fenced and planted to a variety of trees. Date: 1936 Description: The same area as shown in No.19 but photographed four years later. The trees are now well established and the grass cover is spreading rapidly both on open ground and on the sides of gullies which have become sloping. africa
