These are working drawings of three of the eight designs selected for the first United Nations postage stamps. Each stamp bears the words United Nations in five languages - Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.The "Peace, justice, security" design (left) will be printed in blue for stamps of a two-cent denomination and in red for stamps of a $1.00 denomination. It was designed by the Netherlands artist J.F. Doeve.The five-cent stamp design (center), developed by J. Enschede and Sons, Haarlem, the Netherlands, is dedicated to the UN International Children's emergency fund. It will be printed in blue.The "Headquarters buildings" design (right) shows the UN secretariat and other buildings in New York city. The design was created by the Mexican artist Leon Helguera. The 50-cent stamp of this design will be gray and the 1 1/2-cent stamp will be green. September 25, 1951.

Amendments to the law relating to homosexual offences Catalogue Reference: HO 291/130 In 1957 the Wolfenden Report recommended the decriminalisation of homosexuality, however it took 10 years for Leo Abse to bring the bill to the House of Commons. This eventually led to the Sexual Offences Act of 1967 which decriminalised sexual relations between men, but only in England and Wales and with an age of consent of 21. Newspaper photos of victims of Peter Sutcliffe. Peter William Sutcliffe (2 June 1946 - 13 November 2020), also known as Peter William Coonan, was an English serial killer who was dubbed the Yorkshire Ripper (an allusion to Jack the Ripper) by the press. On 22 May 1981, he was found guilty of murdering 13 women and attempting to murder seven others between 1975 and 1980. He was sentenced to 20 concurrent sentences of life imprisonment, which were converted to a whole life order in 2010. Two of Sutcliffe's murders took place in Manchester; all the others occurred in West Yorkshire.
