Eisler 'Demonstration' In Bow Street -- Poster parade in Bow Street, London, to-day (Monday) as a protest against the appearance in the magistrates' court there of Gerhard Eisler German-born Communist. Eisler, who was taken by police from the polish liner 'Batory' in Cowes Roads, was ordered by Southampton magistrates to be taken to Bow Street to show cause why he should not be surrendered to the American authorities. The demonstration coincided with the Bow Street hearing. Eisler, who had boarded the 'Batory' at New York, was removed from the ship under the British Extradition Act of 1870. May 16, 1949.
