Summer Eights is a bumps race that constitutes Oxford University's main intercollegiate rowing event of the year. The regatta takes place in May every year, from the Wednesday to the Saturday of the fifth week of Trinity term. Here a mass of punts fill the River Isis. Date: circa 1910s

Turkey, Chanak - British Fleet Sports Final. A rather funny game is in progress between the 8th Flotilla and HMS Emperor of India, where the sailors are inside large sacks and are attempting to knocjk their opponents over. This game is rather suitably called 'Bumping'!! Date: June, 1928

The Shanghai Race Club was the original horse racing organization for Shanghai, China. When the first horse race meeting in Shanghai took place during 1848 the Shanghai Race Club was known as the Race Committee of the Shanghai Recreation Club. In 1855 it became a Club. In 1862 it detached itself from the Shanghai Recreation Club to become an independent body. The Shanghai Race Club closed down in 1941 and reformed in 2006.
