***** Aches For Ball Boys With This Automatic Tennis Ball Retriever -- Here is just the thing that tennis ball-boys dream about after a hectic period of dashing around the court to return balls that have gone out of play. No stooping is needed - you just push the bucket over the ball in the same way as a park-keeper spikes those pieces of paper that often litter the parks. The pressure pushes the ball up into the bucket and a spring than puts the bottom of the bucket back in Austria to position and thus traps the ball. If only it was fitted with legs to give it mobility - well you wouldn't need a ball boy at all. It is on show at the Vienna (Austria) Spring Trade Fair. March 19, 1951. (Photo by Paul Popper Ltd.).
