The Telephone Service Carries On, London, January 1942 A view of men and women at work in the busy Central Control Room. It is in this underground room that reports of damage to plant are received and recorded. The incidents are plotted on the large map on the wall (visible on the right of the photograph) and arrangements are then made for a survey and repair of damage to be carried out so that the telephone circuits can be restored as soon as possible.
