Casey Naval Family Branch Clinic Iwakuni, Japan during an outreach neonatal training event in which Sailors with the air stations Mother Infant Care Center and U.S. Air Force personnel assigned to the 18th Medical Group's newborn intensive care unit conducted the first in-person training since the COVID-19 pandemic at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, May 25, 2022. The training covered an overview of the neonatal resuscitation program, ground transport operations, and procedures necessary for the on-site care of newborns. Each year, military medical units conduct these trainings throughout the Pacific Region to ensure overseas duty stations can provide local and immediate health care for expecting SOFA status mothers and their families.

NAVAL BASE GUAM (May 26, 2022) - Pictured is the triage onboard the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), which arrived at U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) while en route for Pacific Partnership 2022. Pacific Partnership, now in its 17th year, is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific region. The Pacific Partnership 2022 team will work with host nation counterpart and regionalpartners to provide tailored medical, dental, and veterinary care, and conduct bilateral engineering civic actions, and exchange information related to disaster response procedures. The port stop at NBG will provide the crew time for rest and relaxation, conduct mission preparations, perform routine maintenance, and load additional supplies onto the ship. The hospital ships last visit to Guam was in 2018.
