It is covered by the deep fascia. Several muscle bundles make up muscle. A first membrane called epimysium covers these bundles. But each bundle is also covered by a membrane called the perimysium. They are also made up of a number of muscle fibers covered with endomysium. Myofibrins are the last units of muscle structure. They are not isolated in this drawing. But they are represented by the pinkish beige dots on the section of the muscle fiber.

In children the epiphyses (bone ends) are already made up of spongy bones, They are covered with articular cartilage as in adults. But they are still separated from the diaphysis (central part of the bone) by an area of epiphyseal cartilage. This area is shown in pink. This allows the child's bone to continue to grow in order to reach maturity in adulthood. A cut section is indicated at the level of the shaft of the bone. It is shown top view at the bottom of the illustration. This makes it possible to see the structure of the bone in horizontal section. The bone is covered with a membrane, the periosteum. Inside the periosteum is new bone tissue, and an area of resorbed bone tissue. Here the arrows represent the direction of bone resorption. Finally in the center is the medullary cavity.

Representation of the inhibition of the pain at the level of the spinal cord. The presynaptic neuron releases the neurotransmitters of the pain via synaptic vesicles. These neurotransmitters are released in the synaptic cleft and fixes on the receptors of the synapse of the postsynaptic neuron. The nerve impulse is then created and the information of the pain is transported to the brain. To fight against the pain the neuron of the inhibition will secrete endorphin (neurotransmitters represented by the blue balls). The endorphin fixes on the membrane receptors of the postsynaptic neuron instead of the neurotransmitters of the pain. The information of the pain is not transmitted.
