What Belgium Faced - This is one of a series of terrible pictures with which the Belgian artist Jean Domergue illustrated the Official Belgian Report of deeds actually perpetrated by the Germans in Belgium. Only deeds sworn to by the sufferer or some eye-witness are recorded in this awful report book. The picture here is of five farmers, who were driven into Lebbeke bound arm to arm and there had their eyes put out with sharp irons. Afterward, while bound and blinded, they were beaten.

China Burma India Theater (CBI) was the name used by the United States Army for its forces operating in conjunction with British and Chinese Allied air and land forces in China, Burma, and India during World War II. Well-known US units in this theater included the Flying Tigers, transport and bomber units flying the Hump, the 1st Air Commando Group, the engineers who built Ledo Road, and the 5307th Composite Unit (Provisional), otherwise known as Merrill's Marauders.

Carlist propaganda illustration of Carlist youth playing. Carlism is a political movement in Spain seeking the establishment of a separate line of the Bourbon dynasty on the Spanish throne. After the October 1934 Revolution, which cost the life of the Carlist deputy Marcelino Oreja ElÛsegui, Carlism started to prepare for an armed clash with the revolutionaries. During the Spanish Civil War (1936ñ1939) the Carlists were on the side of the Nationalist rebels.
