The tale of Sindbad the Sailor tells of an Arab adventurer at sea during the ninth and tenth centuries A.D. The 1917 caption reads: "Hindbadfrom Sindbad the sailorwas carrying a very heavy load." Åccording to the tale, Hindbad, weighed down by a heavy load, passes by Sindbad the Sailor's grand house. He mutters some envious words, which Sindbad hears and invites him in, then tells Hindbad of his seven perilous voyages. Hindbad regrets his envious words, but Sindbad welcomes him=, gives him money, and invites him to come often, counting Hindbad now among his close friends. The tale of Sindbad
