US Navy, French Navy, Belize Defence Force, and Mexican Marines perform explosive ordinance training May 16, 2022 in Belize for Tradewinds 2022. Tradewinds 2022 is a multinational exercise designed to expand the Caribbean regions capability to mitigate, plan for, and respond to crises; increase regional training capacity and interoperability; develop new and refine existing standard operating procedures (SOPs); enhance ability to defend exclusive economic zones (EEZ); and promote human rights and adherence to shared international norms and values; fully integrate women into defense, peace and security missions; and increase maritime domain awareness to deter illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities.

The Deputy Commanding Officer of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command (TSC), Col. Tracy Lanier, along with other members of the TSC staff, recently had the opportunity to participate in the Philippines Sustainment Initiative (PSI) Logistics Subject Matter Expert Exchange (LOGSMEE) in Luzon, Philippines. As part of the exchange, 8th TSC logisticians and leaders from the 5th SFAB Logistics Advisory Team (LAT), the Philippine Army (PA) Office of the G4-Logistics and subordinate units from the PA, participated in an open dialogue centered around the strong partnership which exists between the U.S. and the Philippine Army. Leaders discussed interoperability and best practices surrounding sustainment posture for operations, contingencies, and exercises. Partnerships such as these produce bonds, and those bonds form trust among militaries and with native populations. Closing ceremonies commenced today at the Five Hills Training Area in Tavantolgoi, Mongolia, marking the official end to Exercise Khaan Quest 2022.In 2019, more than 30 countries participated. The exercise had not been conducted since then due to the COVID-19 pandemic.This year, Khaan Quest has risen from the ashes of the pandemic and is stronger than ever.
