From left to right, major elements of the orbital outpost pictured include the Soyuz MS-23 crew ship docked to the Prichal docking module which is itself attached to Nauka science module; the Rassvet module attached to the Zarya module; the SpaceX Dragon cargo vehicle docked to the Harmony module's space-facing port; and the SpaceX Dragon crew vehicle docked to Harmony's forward port.

ISS040-E-094430 (15 Aug. 2014) --- The International Space Stations Canadarm2 unberths the Orbital Sciences' Cygnus commercial cargo craft after a month visiting the orbital outpost. European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst and NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman, both Expedition 40 flight engineers, were at the controls of the robotics workstation in the Cupola removing Cygnus from the Harmony node then safely releasing at 6:40 a.m. (EDT) Aug. 15, 2014. A blue and white part of Earth and the blackness of space provide the backdrop for the scene.

The 57.7-foot-long Canadarm2 is attached to the International Space Station's Harmony module extending into a folded position 271 miles above the Indian Ocean south of Australia's island state of Tasmania.

iss063e003542 (4/28/2020) --- The Quetzal-1 CubeSat is seen as it deploys from the JEM Small Satellite Orbital Deployer aboard the International Space Station. Quetzal-1 is Guatemalas first satellite. It was developed in-house at Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG) and tests a multispectral remote sensor prototype composed of a camera, a piezoelectric motor, and a filter carousel designed to acquire images at different wavelengths.

Thus the spacecraft begins its scheduled three-week-long stay at the orbiting space station.

Astronaut David A. Wolf (out of frame), mission specialist, worked in tandem with Sellers during the spacewalk. STS-112s first session of extravehicular activity (EVA) lasted 7 hours and 1 minute.

ISS040-E-062954 (14 July 2014) --- As the International Space Station was flying 225 miles above the Pacific Ocean several hundred miles north of Hawaii, one of the Expedition 40 crew members onboard photographed this image of the orbiting outpost s Canadian-built robotic arm over Pacific waters with Earth s horizon in the background. Astronauts inside the orbital outpost were practicing remote controlling of the SSRMS or Canadarm2 in preparation for the upcoming visit by the Cygnus cargo carrier built by Orbital Sciences Corp.

iss064e027923 (Feb. 1, 2021) --- This photograph of two Russian spaceships, (from left) the Progress 76 resupply ship and the Soyuz MS-17 crew ship, docked to the International Space Station was taken by NASA astronaut Michael Hopkins during a spacewalk he conducted with fellow NASA astronaut Victor Glover (both out of frame). The space station was orbiting 263 miles above the Pacific Ocean off the coast of South America at the time this picture was taken.

ISS027-E-036787 (23 May 2011) --- This image of the International Space Station and the docked space shuttle Endeavour, flying at an altitude of approximately 220 miles, was taken by Expedition 27 crew member Paolo Nespoli from the Soyuz TMA-20 following its undocking on May 23, 2011 (USA time). The pictures taken by Nespoli are the first taken of a shuttle docked to the International Space Station from the perspective of a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. Onboard the Soyuz were Russian cosmonaut and Expedition 27 commander Dmitry Kondratyev; Nespoli, a European Space Agency astronaut; and NASA astronaut Cady Coleman. Coleman and Nespoli were both flight engineers. The three landed in Kazakhstan later that day, completing 159 days in space.

STS110-E-5174 (11 April 2002) --- Backdropped by the blackness of space and Earths horizon, the S0 (S-Zero) Truss is moved from the Space Shuttle Atlantis cargo bay. Astronauts Ellen Ochoa, STS-110 mission specialist, and Daniel W. Bursch, Expedition Four flight engineer, used the International Space Stations (ISS) Canadarm2 to lift the S0 Truss out of the orbiters payload bay and install it onto the temporary claw fixture on the Destiny laboratory. The image was taken with a digital still camera.

S128-E-007239 (1 Sept. 2009) --- Astronaut Nicole Stott, Expedition 20 flight engineer, participates in the STS-128 mission's first session of extravehicular activity (EVA) as construction and maintenance continue on the International Space Station. During the six-hour, 35-minute spacewalk, Stott and astronaut John Danny” Olivas (out of frame), mission specialist, removed an empty ammonia tank from the station’s truss and temporarily stowed it on the station’s robotic arm. Olivas and Stott also retrieved the European Technology Exposure Facility (EuTEF) and Materials International Space Station Experiment (MISSE) from the Columbus laboratory module and installed them on Discovery’s payload bay for return.

STS111-E-5142 (10 June 2002) --- Backdropped by the blackness of space and Earths horizon, the Mobile Remote Servicer Base System (MBS) is moved by the Canadarm2 for installation on the International Space Station (ISS). Astronauts Peggy A. Whitson, Expedition Five flight engineer, and Carl E. Walz, Expedition Four flight engineer, attached the MBS to the Mobile Transporter on the S0 (S-zero) Truss at 8:03 a.m. (CDT) on June 10, 2002. The MBS is an important part of the stations Mobile Servicing System, which will allow the stations robotic arm to travel the length of the station to perform construction tasks.

iss047e050978 (4/10/2016) --- The SpaceX Dragon cargo spaceship is grappled by the International Space Stations Canadarm2. The spacecraft is delivering about 7,000 pounds of science and research investigations, including the Bigelow Expandable Activity Module, known as BEAM. Dragons arrival marked the first time two commercial cargo vehicles have been docked simultaneously at the space station. Orbital ATKs Cygnus spacecraft arrived to the station just over two weeks ago. With the arrival of Dragon, the space station ties the record for most vehicles on station at one time - six.

ISS040-E-127888 (6 Sept. 2014) --- A close look at this image, photographed by one of the Expedition 40 crew members onboard the International Space Station at 228 nautical miles above Earth, reveals a waxing gibbous moon in center frame. The image was taken as the orbital outpost was flying over the southwest Pacific in the area of New Zealand. The NanoRacks Cubesat deployer, attached to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agencys Kibo robotic arm, can be seen in upper right. Soyuz 39 TMA-13M is on Rassvet at right.

iss054e022072 (Jan. 12, 2018) --- The International Space Station orbits above the Falkland Islands off the coast of the southern-most portion of Argentina on the continent of South America. In the upper-right of the photograph is the docked Progress 68 cargo craft.

Multiple User System for Earth Sensing (MUSES) is the first multi-user facility on an ISS ExPRESS Logistics Carrier (ELC). The facility primarily serves as a platform for earth-viewing sensors and other technologies requiring long-term access to the space environment.

. iss069e089047 (Sept. 18, 2023) --- The Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft that carried NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara and Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub to the International Space Station is pictured docked to the Rassvet module. At far left, is the Soyuz MS-23 crew ship, docked to the Prichal docking module, that will return NASA astronaut Frank Rubio and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sregy Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin back to Earth on Sept. 27.

The Nanoracks Bishop Airlock is pictured in the grips of the Canadarm2 robotic arm as it is positioned away from the International Space Station. The commercial platform was being maneuvered prior to jettisoning a trash container for a fiery, but safe disposal above Earth's atmopshere. Bishop is a multi-faceted airlock attached to the Tranquility module used not only to discard trash, but also to host research payloads, deploy satellites, and serve as a testbed for a variety of space technologies. At right, the Canadarm2 is attached to the U.S. Destiny laboratory module as ground controllers remotely maneuver the robotic arm.

The shuttle's Canadian-built Remote Manipulator System (RMS) robotic arm and station's Canadarm2 are also featured in the scene. S89-E-5400 (29 Jan 1998) --- This Electronic Still Camera (ESC) image shows the Russian Mir Space Station over clouds and water, 160 nautical miles below, as seen from the Space Shuttle Endeavour. This photograph was taken following undocking operations, bringing to an end the eighth Shuttle/Mir docking activities. This ESC view was taken at 18:10:04 GMT, on January 29, 1998.

STS097-703-093 (9 December 2000) --- This picture is one of a series of 70mm frames exposed of the International Space Station (ISS) following undocking at 1:13 p.m. (CST), December 9, 2000. This series of images, as well as video and digital still imagery taken at the same time, represent the first imagery of the entire station with its new solar array panels deployed. Before separation, the shuttle and space station had been docked to one another for 6 days, 23 hours and 13 minutes. Endeavour moved downward from the space station, then began a tail-first circle at a distance of about 500 feet. The maneuver, with pilot Michael J. Bloomfield at the controls, took about an hour. While Endeavour flew that circle, the two spacecraft, moving at five miles a second, navigated about two-thirds of the way around the Earth. iss055e009952 (April 4, 2018) --- The SpaceX Dragon resupply ship nears its capture point about 10 meters away from the International Space Station. Japanese astronaut Norishige Kanai commanded the Canadian Space Agency's Canadarm2 robotic arm to grapple Dragon at 6:40 a.m. EDT over the southern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa. NASA astronaut Scott Tingle backed up Kanai while monitoring the cargo ship's approach and rendezvous.

S126-E-009727 (24 Nov. 2008) --- Astronaut Steve Bowen, STS-126 mission specialist, participates in the mission's fourth and final scheduled session of extravehicular activity (EVA) as construction and maintenance continue on the International Space Station. During the six-hour, seven-minute spacewalk, Bowen and astronaut Shane Kimbrough (out of frame), mission specialist, completed the lubrication of the port Solar Alpha Rotary Joints (SARJ) as well as other station assembly tasks. Bowen returned to the starboard SARJ to install the final trundle bearing assembly, retracted a berthing mechanism latch on the Japanese Kibo Laboratory and reinstalled its thermal cover. Bowen also installed a video camera on the Port 1 truss and attached a Global Positioning System antenna on the Japanese Experiment Module Pressurized Section.

ISS031-E-070790 (25 May 2012) --- With clouds and land forming a backdrop, the SpaceX Dragon commercial cargo craft is grappled by the Canadarm2 robotic arm at the International Space Station. Expedition 31 Flight Engineers Don Pettit and Andre Kuipers grappled Dragon at 9:56 a.m. (EDT) and used the robotic arm to berth Dragon to the Earth-facing side of the stations Harmony node at 12:02 p.m. May 25, 2012. Dragon became the first commercially developed space vehicle to be launched to the station to join Russian, European and Japanese resupply craft that service the complex while restoring a U.S. capability to deliver cargo to the orbital laboratory. Dragon is scheduled to spend about a week docked with the station before returning to Earth on May 31 for retrieval.

The camera was installed on the end of the S1 Truss on the International Space Station (ISS) during the missions first scheduled session of extravehicular activity (EVA).
