Vijf beroepen.Five glasses with images of professions in a wooden mount. The appeal depicted is also always mentioned on the glass. Extremely left: 'Plate Drucker', with hands and feet a plate press. To the right: 'Plate cutter', at a table by the window with a few prints on the wall. In the middle: 'Glasse Maker', with a diamond in his hand, a large window flat on a table for him. To the right: 'Pastaij is Soet', a pie breeder puts a pie in the oven. Extreme right: 'Mason', with trowel and brick in hand, bent over a layer of wall. Images seem to go back in part to the prints of Jan and Caspar Luyken, but are not directly copied or transmitted here. The published professions and the composition of the images deviate too much from the original prints.

June with the sign of Cancer, Jan Kamphuijsen, 1791 painting As the inscription below states, the subject of this painting is the month of June. The sign of the constellation Cancer is depicted on a relief with a black stock. Mercury, protective god of June, can be recognized by the Pegasus, Cadaceus and Beurs. De Haan symbolizes his awake, the RAM refers to his role as protector of shepherds and herds and the racket with shuttle to his patronage of the sport. De Haan has been taken over from the carpet series Le Douze Mois Grotesques designed by Claude III Audran (1658-1734), which was put into print by Jean Audran (1667-1756). On the print with the months of May and June, at May, apart from a rooster, a ram, merchandise and rackets can also be seen, of which Maderna has painted his own interpretation. A second source of inspiration was Le Antichità di Ercolano Esposte (Naples 1757-1792). The woman with the tambourine has been copied in detail (dl. 1 (1757), p. 109). This is the only

Young Samurai with Hawk on His Wrist, c. 1767-1768, Suzuki Harunobu, Japanese, 1725 - 1770, 27 15/16 × 5 1/4 in. (70.9 × 13.4 cm) (image, sheet, hashira-e), Woodblock print (nishiki-e); ink and color on paper, Japan, 18th century, Training predatory birds for hunting was a significant pastime of the Japanese aristocracy and a favorite painting subject. Master falconers (takajō) received a special rank within the samurai hierarchy during the Edo period (1603-1868). In this visual parody, Suzuki Harunobu depicts a falconer as an urban dandy (wakashu) with elegant green jacket, purple-and-pink striped kimono, and red-and-white striped sash. The raptor is probably a Northern Goshawk.
