One of the four large fishing boats-presumed to be Japanese-now of our North-West coast. The first picture to reach Perth, it shows the ship at anchor about 45 miles west-north-west of North-West Cape. The ships were first sighted last Saturday by passengers and crew a boat the Charon. A Department of Navy representative conferred with the ship's master on its arrival a Fremantle and the same day a Nepture from Pearce flew up the coast and sighted the ships. March 11, 1954.

Two dramatic pictures showing the last moments in the ill fated American, freighter flying enterprise. At top the vessel is seen heeling ,over flat with the mast touching the water, while below the bows of the vessel are about to be submerged . An escort vessel steams close by. Packing cases and bales litter the angry waters, part of the flying enterprise's cargo which heroio captain Carlsen tried so much to save. A short time before these pictures were taken Captain Carslen and Mr Kenneth Dancy, mate of the Turmoil, had leaped overboard from the stricken freighter's funnel and were picked up by the Turmoil. January 11,1952.
