Fragment with a garden scene early 17th century This silk textile fragment depicts a scene of leisure in a lush outdoor garden. Two musicians, one with a tambourine and one with a zither, sit surrounded by oversized flowers and plants. Idealized scenes of figures in landscape settings were popularized by illustrations in Safavid poetic anthologies, and were emulated by textile designers. The black outlining of the figures and plants in this example creates a graphic, sinuous quality reminiscent of contemporaneous line drawing. The tambourine contains an inscription in black, which names the artist as 'Abdallah. Though now slightly faded, this textile originally would have gleamed with rich metallic threads.. The Annunciation from the Hours of Charles of France 1465 Master of Charles of France French This double-paged Annunciation forms a diptych of remarkable refinement, set on an elaborate stage of simulated architecture and sculpture, and incorporating a procession of angels descending from heaven. It comes from an unfinished book of hours that belonged to Charles, duke of Normandy and brother of King Louis XI. Charles favorite residence, the Chteau de Mehun-sur-Yèvre, near Bourges, appears in the background. The result of this project, referred to by Hutzel as Foto Arte Minore, is thorough documentation of art historical development in Italy up to the 18th century, including objects of the Etruscans and the Romans, as well as early Medieval, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. Images are organized by geographic region in Italy, then by province, city, site complex and monument.

The artwork features two botanical illustrations on one page. At the top is the hazelnut tree (Corylus avellana), labeled as 'bunduq n.p.,' and at the bottom is the mulberry tree (Morus nigra), labeled as 'al-tûth.' The illustrations are attributed to Mîrzâ Bâqir, who was active in the 19th century. The piece was created between 1889 and 1890 and measures 17 x 12.3 cm for the hazelnut tree and 21.5 x 13.8 cm for the mulberry tree. The work is possibly from Tehran or Mashhad
