U.S. Army V Corps senior staff leaders visit and pay their respects to fallen service members at the Henri-Chappelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Plombieres, Belgium, as part of the V Corps Staff Ride August 8, 2022. Attendees use this last day of staff ride to take historical analysis of previous battles and campaigns that become part of the preliminary study, extensive-field-study and integration phases of an Army staff rideused to capture the lessons derived from each event and further the professional development of Army leaders. As America's forward-deployed corps in Europe, V Corps works alongside NATO Allies and regional security partners to provide combat ready forces, executes joint and multinational training exercises, and retains command and control for all rotational and assigned units in the European theater while building local community relationships.

The gates, from the cemetery where Oliver Perry was first buried in 1819, were later dedicated to him in 1926 and have since fallen into disrepair. Members of Company 2-1 and civilian crew members from the Military Sealift Command rescue and salvage ship USNS Grapple (T-ARS 53) are repairing the gate in time for the rededication ceremony on April 4.

A wooden crate more than a century old is shown Aug. 26 , 2022, at the Fort McCoy History Center in the historic Commemorative Area at Fort McCoy, Wis. The crate was donated to Fort McCoy by Alan McCoy of Sparta, Wis., who is the grandson of Maj. Gen. Robert Bruce McCoy for whom Fort McCoy is named after. The crate, which once carried lard buckets, traces back to the time of Camp Emery Upton and Camp Robinson in Wisconsin around 1910.
