Wartime Fashions- Utility Clothing, 1942 A display of Utility clothes in a shop, somewhere in Britain. Featured on the display stand are two dresses, the one on the right costing 60/-. Behind these is a rail of 'Berkertex Utility frocks', and to the right of the photograph, a rail of skirts. All these clothes were designed by Norman Hartnell.

Mrs. Braddock Mannequin For A Day Fifty inches round the hips 15 stone Mrs. Bessie Braddock, M.P., was one of the mannequins at a London show of Spring fashions yesterday. Bessie, the big girls friend paraded in a dress specially designed for outsize women. Made of grey satin back marocain, it is priced at £7 12s. 5d. Four other smaller - but still outsize - mannequins paraded with her. One of them was wearing everything an outsize girl shouldn't - A big, fussy hat, horizontal stripes, neckline cluttered with jewels, padded shoulders, a wide belt and big buttons. For years Mrs. Braddock has campaigned for more clothes designed for "women with decent-sized hips." At last she is beginning to get her way. December 06, 1951.

All features of the Barbie Fashion Shop are scaled exactly to Barbie-size.
