Chief Detective-Inspector Gives Evidence At Christie Trial - Chief Detective-Inspector Albert Griffin (left), who continued his evidence to-day, accompanied by Detective-Inspector Kelly to-day.The trial was resumed at the Old Bailey London, to-day (Tuesday) of John Reginald Halliday Christie, 55-year-old clerk, who is charged with the murder of his wife, Ethel, 54. He pleads Not Guilty. The bodies of three other women found at 10, Rillington Place, Notting Hill, London, where Christie formerly lived, have also been mentioned by the defence, which seek to establish that Christie was insance at the time of the crime with which he is charged. The 5th party congress of the radical right-wing NPD (National Democratic Party of Germany) in the Lower Saxon town of Holzminden on 20 November 1971 triggered protest demonstrations, Adolf von Thadden, Germany, Europe

These two jets of twins kept Orcades passengers guessing during the voyage from England to Australia. They are Alec (left) and Eric Bedser and Misses Audrey (left) and Mary Maltby, of Auckland. To add to the confusion of their striking resemblance, the twins invariably dressed identically during the trip. Passengers also guessed about a possible shipboard romance, but all four strongly denied this. They even refused to be photographed together. Alec Bedser, English lest cricketer, with his brother as companion has come to Australia to report the West Indies tour. They are due in Sydney on Saturday. October 18, 1951.
