NIOC Pensacola's Warrior of the Week for 12-16 February 2024 was CWT2 Burton from Minnesota. CWT2 Burton has been in the Navy for three years and has been a part of NIOC Pensacola for a year and a half. Petty Officer Burton has been instrumental in maintaining his teams equipment, and played a pivotal role in coordinating and setting up the necessary hardware for a recent team assessment. He is also qualified in three separate job roles, a rare feat for any Sailor. Ford's (CVN 78) executive officer, awards Division in the Spotlight (DITS) Wolverine of the Week to Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 3rd Class Roy Smith, from San Antonio, assigned to Fords air department, during a DITS uniform inspection for V-3 division, Sept. 23, 2022. Ford is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting carrier qualifications and workups for a scheduled deployment this fall.

Recruits take the Naturalization Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America during a naturalization ceremony inside the Recruit Memorial Chapel at Recruit Training Command (RTC). Boot camp is approximately 10 weeks and all enlistees into the U.S. Navy begin their careers at the command. Training includes five warfighting competencies of firefighting, damage control, seamanship, watchstanding, and small arms handling and marksmanship along with physical fitness and lessons in Navy heritage and core values, Warrior Toughness, Life Skills, teamwork and discipline. More than 40,000 recruits train annually at the Navys only boot camp.

JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON - (Dec. 1, 2022) A rise in rank is an honor and means a lot to service members who tirelessly perform their duties to strengthen the United States Navy. In recognition of their Naval dedication, eight Sailors, seven from Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio and one from Naval Aviation Maintenance Center for Excellence, Oceana, received authorization to be advanced to the next pay grade.

Boston (May 26, 2022) U.S. Navy Seaman Kyle Worden, was awarded the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal aboard USS Constitution.USS Constitution, is the worlds oldest commissioned warship afloat, and played a crucial role in the Barbary Wars and the War of 1812, actively defending sea lanes from 1797 to 1855. During normal operations, the active-duty Sailors stationed aboard USS Constitution provide free tours and offer public visitation to more than 600,000 people a year as they support the ships mission of promoting the Navys history and maritime heritage and raising awareness of the importance of a sustained naval presence. USS Constitution was undefeated in battle and destroyed or captured 33 opponents.
