For the first time in three years, CFAY held an open base event to highlight the friendship between the local Japanese community and the U.S. Navy. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleets forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.

Survivor Outreach Services visited Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations, Aug. 4, 2022, on their cross-country mission from Oregon to Arlington National Cemetery. Before their orientation, the group held a torch ceremony outside AFMAO to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. People look over Christmas trees to take home after a Federal Express (FedEx) semi tractor-trailer loaded with Christmas trees dropped off the trees as part of Trees for Troops on Dec. 2, 2022, at the South Post Housing area at Fort McCoy, Wis. According to www.christmasspiritfoundation.org, 15,300 total trees were picked up from 54 locations in 2022 and given to 84 total bases, including Fort McCoy. Trees are donated by individual farms and lots, the collective efforts of state and regional Christmas Tree associations, local sponsoring groups, and the customers of participating locations. Hundreds of donors and volunteers participate each year to make Trees for Troops happen, the website states.

(April 27, 2022) Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5s Family Readiness Group hosted a Family Day during the battalions second Command Post Exercise onboard Naval Base Ventura County Port Hueneme, California. The event allowed the families to tour the site and learn how the Seabees operate in the field. NMCB-5 is homeported out of Port Hueneme, training on high-quality construction, expeditionary logistics, and combat operations to execute construction and engineering projects for major combat operations, disaster response and humanitarian assistance.

SAN DIEGO (Sept. 30, 2022) - Friends and family welcome home Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) Sailors as the ship returns to San Diego upon completion of Pacific Partnership 2022. Having just completed its 17th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multi-national humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Pacific Partnership 2022 host nations included Vietnam, Palau, the Philippines and Solomon Islands. U.S. Service Members carried out the mission alongside partner nation representatives from Australia, Chile, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the United Kingdom.
