Railcars that were loaded by Soldiers with the Army Reserves 411th Engineer Company with military vehicles and equipment Nov. 3, 2022, are shown at Fort McCoy, Wis. Overall the company loaded 128 items on to railcars over the multi-day rail movement at the installation to deploy the equipment eventually to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Five personnel with the Fort McCoy Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) assisted with the rail movement and its coordination. The 411th is the latest of many units over the last decade to hold rail movements at Fort McCoy. As a matter of fact, for the many decades of Fort McCoys existence, the capability to transport cargo and equipment to and from the installation by rail has always been there. And its a capability that will continue, Fort McCoy LRC officials said. A training site for the Unit Movement Officer Deployment Planning Course taught by the Wisconsin Military Academy/426th Regional Training Institute is shown Dec. 9, 2022, covered in fresh snow at Fort McCoy, Wis. The course is 10 days and 80 hours of training. The training particularly helps units prepare for rail movements and rail deployments of equipment and vehicles, of which Fort McCoy is a hub for that kind of that activity traditionally. The Chinooks -- a new aircraft to the 207th AVN inventory this year -- provided wildfire suppression support for the first time ever July 8 at the Swan Lake Fire in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge near Sterling, Alaska. The Chinooks and Black Hawks continuously train to remain proficient and ready to respond to missions as needed.

Railcars that were loaded by Soldiers with the Army Reserves 411th Engineer Company with military vehicles and equipment are shown Nov. 17, 2022, at Fort McCoy, Wis. Overall the company loaded 128 items on to railcars over the multi-day rail movement at the installation to deploy the equipment eventually to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. Five personnel with the Fort McCoy Logistics Readiness Center (LRC) assisted with the rail movement and its coordination. The 411th is the latest of many units over the last decade to hold rail movements at Fort McCoy. As a matter of fact, for the many decades of Fort McCoys existence, the capability to transport cargo and equipment to and from the installation by rail has always been there. And its a capability that will continue, Fort McCoy LRC officials said. Nearly three years after the Fort Meade Museum closed a contractor team moved a FT17/M-1917 hybrid Light Tank from the vacated building April 18-19, 2022. The FT17/M-1917 hybrid Light Tank has the hull from a French FT17 tank and the turret from a U.S. M-1917 light tank. This specific tank was not a combat veteran. Tank was sent to the 1st Cavalry Museum at Fort Hood, Texas.
