Airmen assigned to the 6th Communications Squadron begin running at the 11th Annual Estelle Memorial 5K at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, Jan. 26, 2024. The annual memorial run honors U.S. Air Force Maj. Raymond Estelle II who was killed in a shooting incident in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. Estelle previously served at MacDill and has the 6th Communications Squadron facility named after him.

(June 25, 2022) - Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) New Student Indoctrination (NSI) midshipman candidates run during a physical readiness test at Recruit Training Command (RTC), June 25. Upon completion of NSI, the candidates will start their freshman year of the NROTC program at colleges and universities nationwide this fall. NSI is an indoctrination program hosted at RTC, and provides midshipmen with a common military training orientation. NSI provides basic training in five warfighting fundamentals - firefighting, damage control, seamanship, watchstanding and small arms handling and marksmanship - to begin creating basically trained and smartly disciplined future Navy and Marine Corps officers. NROTC is overseen by Commander, Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), Rear Adm. Jennifer S. Couture, which supports naval accessions training for 98 percent of the Navys new officers and enlisted Sailors.

U.S. Airmen honor the legacy of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action service members from various conflicts during the annual 24-hour POW/MIA Remembrance Run at Travis Air Force Base, California, Sept. 15, 2022. Service members, civilians and family members kept the American flag and POW/MIA flag in constant motion for a 24-hour period. According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, more than 82,000 Americans remain missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf Wars and other conflicts. The names of unaccounted service members were recited during the run.

Since the events of 9/11, the U.S. has deployed hundreds of thousands to the outer limits of its American borders and to every corner of the globe to eradicate terrorism.

Recruiting Station (RS) Albuquerque recently held their Annual Pool Function from March 31, 2023 to April 1, 2023 at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, Nm. The purpose of the Annual Pool Function is to bring the Recruiting Sub-Stations together and allow their Poolees to experience first-hand some of the challenges that they will be facing during their upcoming Recruit Training. The RS also had Drill Instructors visiting from Marine Corps Recruiter Depot San Diego to assist in the daily events.

U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade, begin the two-mile run event of the Army Combat Fitness Test as the first event of the brigades Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter Board on Fort Stewart, Georgia, Feb. 10, 2023. The winners of the quarter board may advance to represent the brigade in the 3rd Infantry Division's annual Soldier and NCO of the Year Board. Competition events are a test of grit and toughness, foster readiness and esprit de corps, and are a fundamental part of the unit's method of building lethal, cohesive teams and expert leaders.

(June 14, 2022) - Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) New Student Indoctrination (NSI) midshipman candidates sprint during a physical training session at Recruit Training Command (RTC), June 14. Upon completion of NSI, the candidates will start their freshman year of the NROTC program at colleges and universities nationwide this fall. NSI is an indoctrination program hosted at RTC, and provides midshipmen with a common military training orientation. NSI provides basic training in five warfighting fundamentals - firefighting, damage control, seamanship, watchstanding and small arms handling and marksmanship - to begin creating basically trained and smartly disciplined future Navy and Marine Corps officers. NROTC is overseen by Commander, Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), Rear Adm. Jennifer S. Couture, which supports naval accessions training for 98 percent of the Navys new officers and enlisted Sailors.

NBVC is a strategically located Naval installation composed of three operating facilities: Point Mugu, Port Hueneme and San Nicolas Island. NBVC is the home of the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, 3 warfare centers and 80 tenants.

85th Engineering Installation Squadron honors police week, gold star AirmanMembers of the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron participated in Keesler Air force Base Police Week ruck march honoring fallen security forces members and OSI agents.The event was especially meaningful for members of the 85th as one of the units current members, Airman 1st Class Joshua Balmer, is a gold star child. Balmers father, Special Agent Ryan Balmer, was killed in Iraq in 2007 from an IED blast. Although Balmer was only eight years old at the time, he knew from that moment he wanted to follow in his fathers footsteps and become an Airman. Members of the 85th showed support to Airman 1st Class Balmer and his father by participating in a 4.5 mile ruck to honor the sacrifices Special Agent Balmer and all of our fallen servicemen and women have made over the years.
