At the honorary cemetery Overveen in Bloemendaal, the physical surplus of Lieutenant-Sea of Hamel has been added whereby the royal navy proved the military honor. Lieutenant Van Hamel fell in June 1941 for the fireprooton and newly recently reflected the urn with the physical surplus in Germany. The grave was also dedicated to the memory of his brother and fellow strip. Mr. G.A. Van Hamel who died in the Natweiler concentration camp in July 1944. March 8, 1952. The Netherlands

Queens Honours Merchant Navy War Dead. After unveiling the extended Merchant navy memorial on tower hill, near the tower of London, November 5, the Queen lays a wreath there. New panels record the names of more than 24,000 men and women of the Mercantile marine and fishing fleets who lost their lives in world war two and have no known grave. The archbishop of Canterbury dedicated the memorial and 18 wreaths were laid, the first three by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Gloucester. October 15, 1955.
