Williamson, Naval Station Great Lakes commanding officer, salutes the parading of the colors during a Pearl Harbor ceremony at the National Museum of the American Sailor. Opened in 1911, NSGL is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Located on over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places. NSGL supports over 50 tenant commands and elements as well as over 20,000 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and DoD civilians who live and work on the installation.

While in Las Vegas for Super Bowl LVIII the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard and drummers from The U.S. Navy Band visited with over 200 JROTC students from Sierra Vista High School and Bonanza High School. The color guard shared their experiences in the military and why they continue to choose to serve. Students also had the chance to ask the service members questions and get some tips and tricks about presenting the colors.

Pattillo enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces in November 1942. During World War II, both flew with the Eighth Air Forces 352nd Fighter Group, protecting bombers and attacking ground targets. Maj. Gen. Pattillo flew 135 combat missions before being shot down and captured by the Germans. He remained a POW until the end of the war.Both were released from active duty following World War II but were later recalled in early 1948, serving with the 31st Fighter Group. A personal color bearer from the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) carries the four star general flag during military funeral honors with funeral escort for U.S. Army Gen. Montgomery Meigs in Section 1 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., Jan. 25, 2022. Meigs served as the head of U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army from 1998 to 2002, where he commanded the NATO peacekeeping force in Bosnia. A 1967 graduate from the U.S. Military Academy, he commanded an armored cavalry unit in Vietnam and the 1st Armored Division in the Persian Gulf War. Meigs was named after his great-great-great granduncle who served during the Civil War as the Armys Quartermaster General and was the architect of Arlington National Cemetery. Cadets from Sunburst Youth Challenge Academys Class 29 present the colors during a groundbreaking ceremony, May 19, 2022, for an energy resilience project at Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, California. The project, which will be constructed, owned and operated by Bright Canyon Energy, will generate 26 megawatts of solar photovoltaics, and will include a battery energy storage system, backup generators and a microgrid control system. The project enhances the installations energy resilience by providing power for critical missions for a minimum of two weeks during electrical grid outages. The project supports the Army Climate Strategy goal to build a microgrid on every installation by 2035.

The ceremony officially recognized the activation and naming of Naval Support Activity, MCB Camp Blaz after Marine Barracks Guam was deactivated on Nov. 10, 1992. MCB Camp Blaz was administratively activated on Oct. 1, 2020. It is the first newly constructed base for the Marine Corps since 1952 and will serve as an enduring symbol of the continued partnership between the Marine Corps and the Government of Guam, which has existed since the Spanish surrender to U.S. forces on June 21, 1898.
