221117-N-EV253-2078 SAN DIEGO (Nov. 17, 2022) - A US Naval Aircewmen (Helicopter) practices dynamic hoisting techniques from an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter assigned to the Merlins of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 3 during a dynamic proof of concept course. During the course, which was overseen by HSC-3s Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Search and Rescue Model Manager (SARMM), aviators worked alongside representatives from Air Rescue Systems (ARS) who taught Navy pilots and aircrewmen the physics behind helicopter hoisting and new techniques in order to conduct safe and efficient dynamic hoisting evolutions. Other participants of the course included: Naval Aviation Warfighting Development Center (NAWDC), Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Pacific, Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Atlantic, Lemoore Station SAR and Whidbey Island Station SAR.
