Field Marshal Montgomery: The Field Marshal has very few hobbies - most of his time at the Chateau is spent at work on his papers. A rare cinema or theatre and the occasional session at the billiard table is the most he very indulges. The billiard table is for the most time used as a map table - when it is not the Field Marshal plays - not snooker of billiards - but "Sloch", an old army interpretation of snooker. January 10, 1955. The Winter War. A military conflict between the Soviet union and Finland. It began with a Soviet invasion on november 1939 when Soviet infantery crossed the border on the Karelian Isthmus. About 9500 Swedish volunteer soldiers participated in the war. Here at Karelian Isthmus Finland Finnish civilians evacuated from the frontline are having a meal. December 1939.
