The Austrian Chancellor's Escape:An attempt to assassinate Dr. Dollfuss, the Austrian Chancellor was made in a corridor of the Parliament building at Vienna on Oct. 3rd. A young man named Rudolf Dertil approached with two letters, which a detective took. As Dr. DollfUss tuned away, Dertil drew a revolver and fired twice at him.Happily the shots were ineffective causing only slight injuries. The assailant was seized by the police.Cardinal Innitzer at the chancellor's bedside at his hom, after Dr. Dollfuss had been treated for his wounds.
