Fort McCoy members participate in servant leadership training April 27, 2022, at Fort McCoy, Wis. The training was coordinated by the Fort McCoy Directorate of Human Resources and Viterbo University. A Fort McCoy Directorate of Human Resources leader who helped organize the training said the training is good for the Fort McCoy workforce because it specifically shows the workforce that regardless of age, rank, or status, its always good to be a lifelong learner. And that leader said its also important for government employees to remember they serve. They serve the employee first, taxpayers, service members, family members, and the country. And the leader said that being a servant leader is about who you are, not what you do.

GREAT LAKES, Il. (June 1, 2022) Educators with Navy Talent Acquisition Group Southwest and Navy Recruiting Command tour Recruit Training Command and Naval Station Great Lakes as part of the Educator Orientation Visit (EOV) to familiarize teachers with different aspects of the Navy. Opened in 1911, NSGL is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Located on over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places. NSGL supports over 50 tenant commands and elements as well as over 20,000 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and DoD civilians who live and work on the installation.

Norfolk (September 19, 2022) Chief Petty Officer selectees from various commands in the Hampton Roads, Virginia region participate in history and heritage training aboard the decommissioned Iowa-Class Battleship USS Wisconsin (BB-64) facilitated by Command Master Chief James Parlier, USN (Ret.). Specifically, CMC Parlier shared some of his experiences while serving as the CMC aboard USS Cole (DDG-67), which was the target of a suicide bomb in October 2000 while at anchor in Aden, Yemen. The attack claimed the lives of 17 Sailors, and wounded 59 others. The presentation was part of the museums 21st Annual Chief Petty Officer Heritage Days event. The three-day event allows CPO selectees to receive history and heritage training at the museum and aboard the Battleship Wisconsin, and is hosted by the museum and area commands.
