On May 26th, 61 universities and high schools in Shanghai hold a strike, around 25,000 people in Shanghai Public Stadium hold a National Salvation Pledge Ceremony. The pledge words were: "Combine the ability of the people of the whole country, save the peril, and use the life and death, without turning back." This happened during the May Fourth Movement. The May Fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement that grew out of student protests in Beijing on May 4, 1919.

08/31/1909. An Epic feat, of the Soldiers of Chiclana. During the day of the 20th, the corporal of the Chiclana battalion Nicolás Moreno Gamero, with eleven soldiers, seized a position and remained there for three hours, losing eight hours. In this group they are in Survivors, who are the corporal and the Soldiers Jesús González Mohino, José Parra and Antonio Millán Morales.

The Army That Faces Tibet Invaders - A Lewis-gun section of the Tibet Army, wearing new and old types of headgear. It is this army that is facing Chinese Communists reported to be approaching Lhasa, the Tibetan capital. Security measures are being taken along India's frontier with Tibet because the country that is known as the roof of the world because of its high mountains and arid desert plateaux is considered to have very little chance against the invaders. The Aceh War, also known as the Dutch War or the Infidel War (1873-1914), was an armed military conflict between the Sultanate of Aceh and the Netherlands which was triggered by discussions between representatives of Aceh and the United Kingdom in Singapore during early 1873. The war was part of a series of conflicts in the late 19th century that consolidated Dutch rule over modern-day Indonesia.

Japanese War Criminals Released - Yagi (left) and Hatakeyama walking out of the prison gates. With the approval of the United States two Japanese war criminals have been released from Sugamo Prison - they are the first to gain their liberty since the signing of the Japanese peace treaty. The two released are 65-year-old Toshio Hatakeyama, who was serving a 12 year sentence, and Yoshika Yagi, 37, who had been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. The two men are now on parole.
