The Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) played a crucial role in the development of the huge Saturn rockets that delivered humans to the moon in the 1960s. Many unique facilities existed at MSFC for the development and testing of the Saturn rockets. Affectionately nicknamed The Arm Farm”, the Random Motion/ Lift-Off Simulator was one of those unique facilities. This facility was developed to test the swing arm mechanisms that were used to hold the rocket in position until liftoff. The Arm Farm provided the capability of testing the detachment and reconnection of various arms under brutally realistic conditions. The 18-acre facility consisted of more than a half dozen arm test positions and one position for testing access arms used by the Apollo astronauts. Each test position had two elements a vehicle simulator for duplicating motions during countdown and launch; and a section duplicating the launch tower. These albums are attributed to Eva Braun (four are claimed by her friend Herta Schneider, nee Ostermeyer) and document her life from ca. 1913 to 1944. There are many photographs of Eva, her sisters and their children, Herta Schneider and her children, as well as photographs of Eva's vacations, family members and friends. Included also are photographs taken by and of Eva Braun at Hitler's chalet Berghof (or Kehlstein), photographs of Hitler and his entourage, visitors to Berghof and the scenery around Berchtesgaden, and some studio portraits of Eva and members of her family.

The boat, which was worn on the back, is for crew members and passengers who were in the back of the Lynx. The kites had a same boat, but that sat in a (yellow) box, which formed the seat of the chair.

Air Raid Precautions and Civil Defence on Britain's Home Front- How To Extinguish a Fire Bomb, C 1940 In order to extinguish a fire bomb using a stirrup pump, the best thing to do is wriggle forward on the stomach in order to avoid any fumes from the bomb. It is advisable to put out nearby fires with the jet of water and then direct the spray towards the bomb itself. This photograph demonstrates the way in which the nozzle of the pump should be held. The original caption for this photograph stresses: 'never turn the jet on the bomb!'.

New Weapon For The British Army: A 12 year old see Cadet demonstrates how easy the new Sterling sub-machine gun is to handle. A demonstration of the new Sterling sub-machine gun given at Daganham, near London. The weapon has now been adopted by the British Army and will be used instead of the Sten gun, and supplementary to the F.N. rifle. The Sterling - which weights 6 lbs - is capable of firing at the rate of 575 rounds per minute and can be used either as a fully of semi-automatic sub-machine gun, sighted for accurate shooting up to 200 yards. Detachment 101, an enigmatic Allied intelligence and special operations unit during World War II, played a pivotal role in the Burmese theater. Operating deep in the jungles of Burma, their mission was multi-faceted, encompassing guerrilla warfare, espionage, and sabotage against Japanese forces. Comprising a diverse group of individuals, from OSS agents to indigenous fighters, they effectively disrupted Japanese supply lines, gathered critical intelligence, and supported resistance movements.

The Armenian Genocide refers to the deliberate and systematic destruction of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during and just after World War I. It was implemented through wholesale massacres and deportations, with the deportations consisting of forced marches under conditions designed to lead to the death of the deportees. The total number of resulting Armenian deaths is generally held to have been between one and one and a half million. Other ethnic groups were similarly attacked by the Ottoman Empire during this period, including Assyrians and Greeks, and some scholars consider those events to be part of the same policy of extermination. It is widely acknowledged to have been one of the first modern genocides, as scholars point to the systematic, organized manner in which the killings were carried out to eliminate the Armenians, and it is the second most-studied case of genocide after the Holocaust. The word genocide was coined in order to describe these events.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Brandon Peralta, a defender assigned to the 6th Security Forces Squadron, is blind folded during an M-4 Carbine rifle assembly challenge as part of National Police Week May 17, 2022, at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. The challenge consisted of a blind folded M-4 Carbine rifle assembly, ruck march and beach crawl. Every year, MacDill Airmen come together to celebrate National Police Week by honoring military and civilian law enforcement who paid the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty.

(Little Joe is a dice players slang term for two deuces.)Walker is shown in the photo wearing an early Air Force partial pressure suit. This protected the pilot if cockpit pressure was lost above 50,000 feet. Similar suits were used in such aircraft as B-47s, B-52s, F-104s, U-2s, and the X-2 and D-558-II research aircraft. Five years later, Walker reached 354,200 feet in the X-15. Similar artwork - reading "Little Joe the II" - was applied for the record flight. These cases are two of the few times that research aircraft carried such nose art.
