Pilots Plane Dropped To Earth Via Parachute -- Capt. Roscoe Turner who piloted the plane which was successfully dropped to earth when high in the air, by means of the eighty feetnin diameter parachute which was attached to the upper wing. Sergeant-Major Wendy Gibson on the parade Ground: She is 27, has joined the Auxiliary Territorial Services as early as February 1939 as one of the first volunteers was promoted to the position of Senior Leader (which is equivalent to sergeant-major) from the ranks. She joined in the City of London - a fact indicated by the sign of the sword on the triangle sewn on her upper arm the sign is taken from the City's coat- of-arms). Before the war, Wendy worked in a Sports and Games warehouse in the City of London, was in charge of its office and showroom. Her company has promoted her to the position of a director, a position she is to assume when the war is over. October 29, 1940.

Folke Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg (2 January 1895 - 17 September 1948) was a Swedish diplomat and nobleman. During World War II he negotiated the release of about 31,000 prisoners from German concentration camps including 450 Danish Jews from the Theresienstadt camp. They were released on 14 April 1945. In 1945, he received a German surrender offer from Heinrich Himmler, though the offer was ultimately rejected. After the war, Bernadotte was unanimously chosen to be the United Nations Security Council mediator in the Arab-Israeli conflict of 1947-1948. He was assassinated in Jerusalem in 1948 by the militant Zionist group Lehi while pursuing his official duties. The decision to assassinate him had been taken by Natan Yellin-Mor, Yisrael Eldad, and Yitzhak Shamir, who later became Prime Minister of Israel.

Permanent military chairman of the forces of Western Europe: Field Marshal Lord Montgomery. Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, KG, GCB, DSO, PC, DL (17 November 1887 - 24 March 1976), nicknamed "Monty" and "The Spartan General", was a senior British Army officer who served in the First World War, the Irish War of Independence and the Second World War.

He combined Marine's ministry with the position of commander of the navy. The lines network on the photo was applied by Cor Visser for his drawing of the Dutch war cabinet

Royal Air Force- 2nd Tactical Air Force, 1943-1945. Half-length portrait of Group Captain J E Rankin, when leader of No. 125 Wing RAF. Having begun the war as an instructor, Rankin was given the command of No. 64 Squadron RAF in 1941, leaving that unit in August 1941 with a score of at least 14 victories. Then, in two tours leading the Biggin Hill Wing (separated by a spell as wing commander in charge of training at No. 11 Group of Fighter Command from December 1941 to April 1942) he increased his score to 21. He was promoted to Group Captain in 1944 and led 125 Wing of No. 83 Group RAF into Europe.

He is now Chief of the anti-Soviet Counter intelligence organisation financed by the United States Government with headquarters at Pullach, near Munich. In the war he was Chief of the German Military intelligence on the Russian front. He is believed a likely choice to succeed doctor Otto John as head of the west German Government intelligence service, Gehlen does not like to be photographed and no known pictures have been taken of him for some years.
