Of the 2,977 fatal victims, 2,753 were killed in the World Trade Center and the surrounding area, 184 at the Pentagon, and 40 in Pennsylvania.

There was an Army Birthday 5K Run that started at Infantry Park on Fort Dix on 14 June 2022. Fort Dix Celebrated the Army Birthday with the popular formation 5K run each year with Service Members. Refreshments and the United States National Anthem was sung prior to the run. This 5k run starts each year at 0630 until the last runner finishes. The event was hosted by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, and allowed CPO selectees from the Hampton Roads, Virginia area to receive history and heritage training aboard the Battleship Wisconsin and at the museum. The event is the largest and longest running of its kind in Virginia.
