A soldier sprints to the formation while carrying an American Flag during the New York City Tunnel to Towers Run, Sept. 30. United States Military Academy at West Point cadets and FDNY firefighters lined the final stretch of the run. The run is in support of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which works to build homes for injured troops and provide scholarships to the children of fallen service members and firefighters. Siller was an off-duty New York City firefighter who headed back to the city to help after the attacks on 9/11. When he reached as far as car traffic would allow he strapped his 65 pounds of gear on ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to join his fellow firefighters. The 5km run retraces his steps to the base of the World Trade Center. Siller died while helping with the rescue effort.

NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Poland Soldiers assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division (3-1 ABCT) alongside United Kingdom Army soldiers assigned to The Royal Lancers, Prince of Whales Troop, Romanian Sky Guardians, and the Polish Armed Forces 15th Mechanized Infantry Brigade participated in a 5.4km battlegroup run for morale and enhanced interoperability between the allied nations in Bemowo Piskie, Poland, Oct. 21, 2022. The 3-1 ABCT is among other units assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, proudly working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America's forward deployed corps in Europe.

(Nov. 5, 2011) More than 800 runners and walkers start the first-ever Tyler Jefferson Memorial 5K Run in front of the Center for Information Dominance headquarters building at Corry Station. The race was sponsored by the Corry Station Chief Petty Officers Association to honor Seaman Tyler Jefferson, an Information Systems Technician "A" school student who was shot and killed while jogging through a residential neighborhood not far from Corry Station in November 2009.

Los Angeles Air Force Base held a remembrance event for National POW/MIA Recognition Day that began on Sept. 15 and ended on Sept. 16 with a 54 mile torch run and wreath laying ceremony. The torch lighting and run began at Terminal Island, California, and ended at the base. Various base and community organizations carried the torch while running relay legs. The Los Angeles Air Force Base honor guard presented the colors for the opening ceremony on Sept. 16, 2022. Col. Mia Walsh, Commander of Space Base Delta 3, hands the Most Miles Completed trophy to volunteers and the top runners.

Chiefs and chief selects from both commands have come together on Patriots Day for the past six years to run on Silver Strand Beach.

Norfolk (September 19, 2022) Chief Petty Officer selectees from various commands in the Hampton Roads, Virginia region participate in history and heritage training facilitated by BTCS(SW) Tom Dandes, USN (Ret.) of the Hampton Roads Naval Museum. The presentation was part of the museums 21st Annual Chief Petty Officer Heritage Days event. The three-day event allows CPO selectees to receive history and heritage training at the museum and aboard the Battleship Wisconsin, and is hosted by the museum and area commands. The POW/MIA flag was adopted in 1972. It was then enshrined into law as mandatory to be flown on federal properties in 2019.

U.S. Army squads from across III Armored Corps compete for the title of the corps Best Squad during head-to-head competition at the III Armored Corps Best Squad Competition at Fort Hood, Texas, Jun. 22, 2022. The Soldiers kicked off the week-long events with the Army Combat Fitness Test, or ACFT, a test that challenges Soldiers both physically and mentally through various events. The III Armored Corps pulled only the best from across its divisions and separate brigades to compete in this years inaugural competition. The best squad goes on to compete in the U.S. Army Forces Command competition at Fort Hood in August.

The run was held in memory of the 30 U.S. service members killed when their CH-47 Chinook helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan on Aug. 6. George H.W. Bush is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility on its first operational deployment conducting maritime security operations and support missions as part of Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn.

CPO initiation is a professional education and training environment that starts when the announcement message is released, and time-honored tradition focused on team/individuals as leaders of integrity, accountability, initiative, and toughness.

This USMC birthday celebration run began the afternoon of Monday, November 7th with individual runners running in 10 minute continuous increments, over two nights, for the initial 246 miles and finishing the 247th mile with a formation run on the morning of Wednesday, November 9th.
