The Port Dawg Memorial Run is an event held across the aerial transportation community and started in 2013 at Kadena Air Base, Japan, when Port Dawgs held the first event to honor the life of Tech. Sgt. Curtis E. Eccleston. Since 2013 the event has spread across the globe and is held to memorialize those in the 2T2 career field that have passed away in the previous year.

U.S. Airmen honor the legacy of Prisoners of War and Missing in Action service members from various conflicts during the annual 24-hour POW/MIA Remembrance Run at Travis Air Force Base, California, Sept. 15, 2022. Service members, civilians and family members kept the American flag and POW/MIA flag in constant motion for a 24-hour period. According to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, more than 82,000 Americans remain missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, the Gulf Wars and other conflicts. The names of unaccounted service members were recited during the run.

The feelings of anticipation are relieved by the starting gun signaling that the Quantico 12K race has now begun at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, August 20, 2022. The Quantico 12K is a 7.46 mile journey through the back yard of MCB Quantico's Officer Candidates School before finishing at the OCS PT field.

SEATTLE (April 9, 2022) - University of Utah Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) midshipmen carry a fellow midshipman on a stretcher during an endurance race around the University of Washington campus during the 2022 Northwest Navy competition, April 9. More than 250 NROTC students and staff members from the Universities of Idaho/Washington State, Oregon State, Utah and Washington competed in military drill, academic and athletic events at the one-day contest. Northwest Navy has been held on a rotating basis between the schools since 1957. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this was the first time all units were able to compete in person since 2019.

Fire fighters from Garden City and Pooler used their fire trucks to hang a large American flag at the starting/finishing line of the race.
