Life Sentence For Sgt. Gallagher -- Sgt. James Gallagher (centre) during his court martial.Sgt. James Gallagher, 23, was sentenced to life imprisonment with hard labour by a court martial in New York last week.He was found guilty on four charges. They involved unpremeditated murder of two, fellow prisoners in a Communist Chinese Prison Camp, mistreating and informing on other prisoners, and collaborating with the communist Chinese.He was found not guilty on two other charge.It was states in evidence that Gallagher forcibly removed two soldiers from their sick beds and threw them outside the hut when the temperature was 40 degrees below.
