General De Gaulle Inspects Hospital Unit For Africa France Colonial Troops Attend Ceremony - General de Gaulle and Miss Mary Borden inspecting nurses of the unit.General de Gaulle, leader of the Free French forces, inspected the Hadfield Spears Hospital Unit in Southern England before it left for Africa to work with the free French Forces. The field hospital unit is provided with funds raised by the British War relief Society in New York. Moroccan troops of the Free French Forces attended the ceremony. Miss Mary Borden wife of Major-General E.L. Spears is leader of the unit. January 24, 1941.

Lord Tedder Receives City Freedom -- Lord Tedder inspecting a guard of honour formed by cadets of No. 296, Stoke Newington and 793, St. Olave's Grammar School, A.T.C. Squadrons at the Lanision House to-day (Tuesday). The Freedom of the City of London was to-day (Tuesday) conferred on marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Tedder Chief of the Air Staff and wartime Deputy Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force. In an open carriage Lord Tedder drove from the law Courts through the City streets to the Guildhall to receive the Freedom, and then on to the Mansion House. May 28, 1946.
