The Oseberg ship . A Viking ship discovered in a large burial mound at the Oseberg farm near Tønsberg in Vestfold county, Norway. Dating from around 800 AD, the ship was excavated by Norwegian archaeologist Haakon Shetelig and Swedish archaeologist Gabriel Gustafson in 1904-1905. The ship is displayed at the Viking Ship Museum, in Bygdøy.

The Khufu ship, (Solar Ship), from Ancient Egypt, was sealed into a pit in the Giza pyramid complex, at the foot of the Great Pyramid of Giza, around 2500 BC. The ship now is preserved in the Giza Solar boat museum. The ship was almost certainly built for Khufu (King Cheops), the second pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt.

Life Boat, H.W. Burman, 1870 - 1885 life boat One-person lifeboat with rowing and sailing power, incomplete. The hull consists of basket filled with cork, braided around a zinc container with wooden edges and wooden bench. Under the sofa a box with inscription. The hull has a truncated pointed bow and a mirror with stirring with tellows on the stern. It is built on a wooden keel, to which a hinged vinkiel of iron and tarpaulin is attached; Before the keel has a notch, probably for a fall mechanism. On either side of the hull a sausage -shaped floats of stool -filled canvas. There are two rowing germs that are hung on folding rowing pins. A mast track and mast sleeve in the cockpit indicate that the vessel originally also had a sailing. The woodwork is decorated with polychromed ornaments.
