Two MERCEDES BENZ ground vehicles from the Command Corps on Patrol during the Isaf Operation in Afghanistan. The vehicles are equipped with a machine gun can 7.62 mm NATO. The ISAF operation is a peacekeeping power mandated by the Security Council that would assist the Afghan authorities in maintaining safety in Kabul and surroundings. However, the Enduring Freedom led by the Americans continued to be active in Afghanistan in parallel to Isaf. ISAF made use of the standard NATO command structure with a strategic headquarters and an operational (Brigade) headquarters, the Kabul Multinational Brigade (KMNB). In mid-September, YPG hosted a demonstration showcasing the use of the United States most cutting edge 155mm artillery munitions with the South Korean K9A1 Thunder Self-Propelled Howitzer and K10 Ammunition Resupply Vehicle (ARV). On the demonstration day, about 60 visitors from across the Army and several friendly foreign nations observed the K9A1 undergo loading from the K10 and then embark on multiple realistic fire missions across two adjacent gun positions.

More than 600 Idaho Army National Guard Soldiers, joined by Soldiers from the Montana, Oregon, Ohio and South Carolina Army National Guards, have been training in Fort Bliss, Texas, since mobilizing from Gowen Field in early August. The task force, Task Force Rattler, will deploy to Southwest Asia later this month in support of Operation Spartan Shield, where they will rotate out with 250 Soldiers from the Idaho Army National Guard as well as Soldiers from the Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Florida Army National Guards. Each rotation is approximately 12 months. Soldiers from the 118th Infantry Regiment from South Carolina National Guard and the 285th Medical Company from the Ohio National Guard are also part of Task Force Rattler, which provide the task force the ability to execute combined arms maneuvers. The Florida Army National Guard Soldiers from the 1-265th Air Defense Artillery (ADA), work in tandem with the Charlotte County Sheriffs Department and the Federal Emergency Management Agency in a joint effort to get supplies to the residents of Don Pedro Island Oct. 3, 2022. The only access to the island is by private boat or the Palm Island ferry service and residents had difficulty getting supplies. Over 6,000 service members were activated in response to the natural disaster along with both military and civilian support from out-of-state locations.
