The Hall is situated at the end of the Middle Kingdom court. In September 2018, Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities, announced the discovery of an 18th dynasty tomb, in Draa Abul-Naga, a burial site for noblemen on the left bank of the Nile, near the Valley of the Kings. the tomb contains mummies believed to be a goldsmith called Amenemhat, who lived sometime between 1550 B.C. to 1292 B.C. The burial chamber has a niche at one end, which holds a statue of Amenemhat who sits on a chair next to his wife, Amenhotep. The Eighteenth Dynasty dates back to the 13th century BC, a period noted for some of the most well known Pharaohs, including Tutankhamen and Ramses II. The chamber has two burial shafts. In one, archaeologists found sarcophagi and remains dating from the later 21st and 22nd Dynasties. Those included the remains of a woman and her two grown children. She showed signs of bacterial bone disease and cavities. The other shaft contains funerary masks and statues depicting the goldsmith's family. The tomb hoses deteriorated mummies with their skul

Panel from Model Cooking Stove: Lancer Jousting with a Tiger, 100-1 BC. China, from a tomb in Xi'an, Shanxi province, Western Han dynasty (202 BC-AD 9). Earthenware with impressed relief decoration; overall: 11.4 x 31.1 cm (4 1/2 x 12 1/4 in.). Han dynasty tombs were often furnished with grave goods to provide the deceased with items for the afterlife. Four earthenware panels were made in molds and then joined together to make a miniature model of a stove. Opposite one another on the two long sides of the stove are representations of the eastern dragon and western tiger, here fended off by a lancer.

Panel 13th-15th century It was during the medieval period, in twelfth-century Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, that the pattern much later described in the West as the arabesque was fully developed. By general definition, an arabesque is a rhythmical arrangement of vine scrolls and foliate forms. But as more precisely defined by scholars, an arabesque requires the bifurcation of vines and the incorporation of split leaves; vines emanate from the tips of the leaves, assuring infinite extension of the pattern. Nebamun hunting in the marshes. Nebamun is in a small boat, hunting birds with his wife Hatshepsut and their young daughter in the marshes of the Nile. Scenes of leisure had already been traditional parts of tomb chapel decoration for centuries and they shoed the tomb owner enjoying himself and seeing beauty in the afterlife.
