At its pinnacle, de Bruyn depicts a roundel showing a bearded man riding a horse while the angel of death flies above him. The inscription notes that: 'C'est en vain' (it is in vain), and is perhaps a warning about all of the earthly riches seen in the engraving and made manifest in the terrestrial globe seen in the lower foreground. Louis d'Or au soleil, en sanguine engraving 1705, Louis XIV sitting next to a table, head resting on his left elbow which rests on his left knee; he is asleep, though his right hand rests on money bags lying on the table with some loose coins. He wears a Louis d'Or medal and a large, plumed hat. A battle scene is depicted on the fabric that hangs from the table, possibly the battle of Blenheim. The result of this project, referred to by Hutzel as Foto Arte Minore, is thorough documentation of art historical development in Italy up to the 18th century, including objects of the Etruscans and the Romans, as well as early Medieval, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. Images are organized by geographic region in Italy, then by province, city, site complex and monument.

Normally this process was supervised by the king, but if he died the responsibility was often assumed by the widowed queen. We see the regent queen on the left, supervising a riding lesson. The statue of Hercules indicates male approval and has been included in the design to assure the contemporary viewer that the future king would be well-educated.

Fire from Persepolis from the Series History of Alexander the Great. In midfield for a number of columns and under a canopy, Alexander is the Great. It is surrounded by a number of women and employees and points to the burning palace complex in Persepolis that is displayed on the left on the rear plan. At the front right, a woman with the spectator beats the whole gade. Central to the forefront are a shield, tableware, a vase of flowers and a monkey. The wide border is decorated with vines and finely detached fluttering birds in different colors.

These tapestries were modeled after Catherine de'Medici who ruled France during the mid 16th century. During her rule France was embroiled in religious and economic turmoil. In an effort to demonstrate her own devotion to her husband and her ability to rule successfully, Catherine de'Medici adopted Queen Artemisia as her alter-ego, and in the late 16th century a set of tapestries were made to illustrate the story.
