An F-16XL Scamp model, four per cent the size of the full-scale aircraft, is tested in the Basic Aerodynamics Research Tunnel as part of a High Speed Research Program. As easy to read as a home pregnancy test, three Quantifiable Lateral Flow Assay (QLFA) strips used to test water for E. coli show different results. The brightly glowing control line on the far right of each strip indicates that all three tests ran successfully. But the glowing test line on the middle left and bottom strips reveal their samples were contaminated with E. coli bacteria at two different concentrations. The color intensity correlates with concentration of contamination.
